Beach Wedding Destinations

Dreaming of a beach wedding but worried about privacy, interruption from random frisbee-passing strangers?  Well we thought it would be fun to point out a few dreamy places that some people have chosen as their wedding destinations. Either you are dreaming of the beach wedding or already married but maybe you would like to renew your vows on the beach, this list goes on without simply saying BEAUTIFUL!

Riviera Maya, Cancun

Riviera Maya, Cancun features 45 acres of mangroves and freshwater lagoons, not to mention a 700-foot sugary-soft beach. On its far end, walk a shell-strewn aisle to exchange traditional vows, or opt for a Maya ceremony in which a local shaman blesses you and your beloved with copal incense, corn seeds, flower petals and seashells. Throw the reception right on the sand, with potted palms marking your space.

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

Three-quarters of the land on charming St. John is preserved as national parkland, so it’s no surprise so many nature-loving couples choose to marry here. The only resort within the park, 170-acre Caneel Bay makes for the ideal setting. Perched on its own remote peninsula, the 166-room property sits on a former sugar plantation and boasts seven camera-worthy beaches where white-tailed deer and wild donkeys roam.

Maui, Hawaii

Many visitors think of Maui as the most romantic Hawaiian island, perhaps because it’s filled with waterfalls and rainbows. And its beaches are considered to be among the best anywhere, so it’s a popular spot to wed. Guests will enjoy hitting the links on the west coast, or “Golf Coast,” and surfers (or aspiring ones) will find some of the world’s most famous waves here. Of course, snorkeling, kayaking, whale watching and all the activities you’d expect from a tropical paradise are here as well.

Miami, Florida

Between the sunny weather and beautiful beaches, Miami is a great alternative to the Caribbean or Mexico, especially if you’re looking to stay within the US. Besides its picturesque sands, Miami is known for its art-deco architecture, which is sure to add character to your wedding photos. The city is also an international hub, so wedding caterers cover all taste preferences.

Caribbean: Antigua

This idyllic island not only has a whopping 365 beautiful beaches to get hitched on, but it’s also steeped in nautical history. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Antigua was home to a huge British naval base, and its harbor is still a popular yachting destination for the international jet set. If you want to host your nuptials at a high-end all-inclusive resort, look no further—many of the world’s swankiest are here.
